The panacea is real…

When Shepard Bailee inadvertently cheats his way onto the boys’ varsity swim team he must find out how he cheated and it has all to do with whatever’s at the bottom of Old Hilliard lake.
The panacea, an all-healing, problem-solving phantom, gives Shepard everything he’s ever wanted, but there’s a price to pay. As the things he had once healed revert back to an even worse state of brokenness, Shepard confides in his best friend to decode the deadly cyclical patterns of the panacea, where they find a way to rid of the panacea once and for all. Shepard must win his state swim meet, but excelling at swim exposes him to a viral setting. With a prying town, a reality tv-show on his back, and a sick mother, he’s in for a world of problems, problems not even the panacea can fix.
